Day 40: My First Co-Write!

Finally finished my 5th song of FAWM – New Mistakes, even though I haven’t recorded song no 4 Wood & Stone.

If I can manage to do that tomorrow I’ll still be 5 in 10 days and still on track.

So for the record I’ve written 5 songs this month and 8 so far this year – smashing last year’s record. I’ve written more songs in the last 2 months than I did all last year. Wow. Thank You God!

If you’ll permit me to go all Oscar ceremony for a moment, I couldn’t do it without the support of my wife, and a place to write.

Anyway, enough yakking. Here’s the song

Matt, you're absolutely tearing through this challenge! I've still had no more free time to do any more writing, grrr! I've got this evening off though so am going to hit it hard. Hope you're leg's improving.

  2. Matt Blick says:

You're being very kind Ali – 5 out of 14's is hardly tearing, more motoring along nicely – which I'm very happy to be doing! One good thing about working at this pace is you don't have much time to get into the post song self doubt.

Still waiting for a chunk of your thesis!

  3. Mat says:

    Matt,

I love this song – sounds incredibly professional and something I'd buy!

    Sounds a bit REM-like – Only a bit!

  4. Matt Blick says:

Thank Mat – I'll take all of those, even the REM comment!

  5. Mat says:

Yeah – Sorry about that :D – It does sound a bit like REM's newer stuff though.
